Our Legacy
William L. Bissi – Our Legacy
Since 1936
It began inside the Social Security Administration.

Bissi & Associates Disability Advocates, L.L.C. actually began on December 7, 1936 in Washington, D.C., when William L. Bissi began working for the Social Security Administration as a messenger. Shortly before his retirement from the Social Security Administration, after 35 years, his duties included administrative responsibilities for the six Social Security branch offices in the state of South Carolina.
Mr. Bissi served our country in World War II and received two bronze stars. He attended Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. He obtained academic excellence in recognition of his newspaper stories and original magazine articles.
Mr. Bissi opened the doors for business as a representative for Social Security disability claims on August 1, 1983. His credentials at the time were 35 years of Social Security experience and a Juris Doctorate degree from George Washington University Law School. He used business cards that read, “The Man Who Cares.” Counting the 35 years with Social Security and his 30 years as a very successful representative, Mr. Bissi attained 65 years of Social Security experience. The 35 years inside the Social Security Administration and the 30 years outside as a claimant’s representative makes that a record that will be very difficult to duplicate.
Mr. Bissi was both a member of NOSSCR and a member of NADR.
