Since 2018, Douglas Bissi has been helping veterans navigate one of the most challenging systems they’ll ever face: the VA compensation, survivor benefits, and pension claims process. Many of Doug’s disability clients are veterans, and he specializes in helping them obtain the VA benefits they’ve earned alongside their Social Security claims. Doug brings more than three decades of disability advocacy to this work. After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, he joined Bissi & Associates in 1993, and has spent his career representing claimants who became unable to work and needed a helping hand. That experience — building medical evidence, understanding how disabling conditions are evaluated, and presenting a case clearly and persuasively — translates directly to VA claims, where the difference between a denial and a fair rating often comes down to how well the record tells a veteran’s story.
