It must be remembered that a claimant who files for Social Security Disability benefits before an Administrative Law Judge must usually wait an extremely long period of time before his or her hearing is finally scheduled. This long wait can lead to a frustrated lifestyle as the claimants are jobless, have no money to buy food or pay necessary bills for treatment and health care, and can become, or are, homeless.
This situation can lead to a state of hopelessness, anxiety, and depression. An individual facing the seemingly unbearable wait clearly needs experienced disability advocates to help and understand their situation. The claimant needs to be able to trust in their representative like a friend during this waiting period which can last for up to two years or more.
